Dr Shruthi Arunan is an allopathic trained medical professional, with a keen interest in child psychology and holistic development. Having grown up, constantly acquainted with the Montessori pedagogy, her focus and admiration for Dr. Montessori's vision increased multifold during her medical school training. A child is innately curious, and to make use of that curiosity to teach the child - known as "practical play" instead of forcing them to conform to their peers pace of development, is something she is passionate about. In the era of increased digitization, it is very easy to forgo mindful development of the child - is it enough that the child is engaged in front of the mobile phone, or is it more important that he is mindfully learning language or senorial activities? Is it enough to plonk a book in front of him as a chore, or it more meaningful that he views learning as a fun activity, setting him on the path to ask the right questions? 

We often lose sight of the forest, amongst the trees - which is what Dr Maria Montessori urges to reconsider - the vastness of what a child can learn, when presented at his own pace, is something to be inspired by.
