Why Nambi Narayanan’s Montessori?

I remember stepping into my first Montessori school in 2000, and witnessing an entire system of education centered around pace of the child, which also focused on fostering independence and peer based learning - and needed no more convincing. Having been a staunch Montessorian since, working with fellow teachers and children of age groups spanning from new-borns to age 12, collaborating with institutes both Indian and international, I envisioned the day I would start my own Montessori House of children, grounded in Dr Maria Montessori principles as well as our own innate culture - a vision I could bring to life by collaborating with one of the most prolific scientists in modern India – my own father. His life long quest for encouraging scientific curiosity, promoting indigenous ways of problem solving and his belief that education is the backbone of our countries growth – is the very foundation on which NaNa Montessori stands today.
